Blade-Tech AR15 Rifle Training Bolt

Fri Jun 26 2009
We had the chance to photograph the new Blade-Tech AR15 Rifle Training Bolt at the 2009 NRA National Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. I am a fan of the Blade-Tech products and this is another useful item in my opinion. When I first saw the new Blade-Tech barrel being demonstrated on this Smith & Wesson M&P15 I was impressed with the design which allowed for easy storage in the pocket of a range bag, unlike the 16 inch long plastic training barrel inserts we now use. This training aid / safety device replaces the bolt in the AR15 / M-16 with the bright yellow plastic training bolt. A length of shock cord (elastic cord) threads down the barrel and can tie off with the yellow safety flag that sits at the flash hider to indicate the rifle is non-operable. The Blade-Tech AR15 Rifle Training Bolt will allow full function of the AR15 bolt carrier, which aids in trigger function for reset drills. A big advantage of a training barrel over the solid plastic training rifles is usefulness, cost and size. While the larger solid plastic training guns cost many times more than this Blade-Tech AR15 Rifle Training Bolt, they are also the same size as a rifle so they can be difficult to store and transport. A non-firing training rifle ideal for disarming, weapon retention, room clearing and CQB tactics. Use your own AR15, Use your own sights or optics, use your own forward grip, stock and pistol grip.. even your own charging handle and magazines
